A new News Broadcast format: Social news.

I don't watch a lot of TV because I feel like I'm just sitting there and taking in too much.  I like to create and contribute.  So I work. Turns out that working actually accomplishes things and makes money.  I enjoy it more than being constantly entertained or fed information constantly.

I think information is important and without it you can't do much.  It's how we all make decisions. But the old news format wher you tune in and watch a talking head is not the best way to get information IMO.

There's also a certain amount of embellishment or even bias that goes into the reporting you see on TV today.  This is VERY true of political news.  Not a fan of this at all.  You notice this when your grandmother calls you from out of state after a small earthquake hits because the news in her area made it look like california was falling into the ocean.

If an earthquake hits, I like to jump online and look up live maps and check several different sites to verify my information.  I'll even call people who I know near the epicenter and see how it was for them.

What if news was more like this?  What if it involved real people all over the place doing the reporting and it checked several different sources.

This new format has already started.  This is my kind of news broadcast:
