I love on-demand resources, from 5 to 500 servers in minutes.  I love uptime and not worrying about the Internet connection in our office affecting customers.  I love being able to spin up a complete duplicate set of our production servers (16 total) to run a load test without affecting production and paying only $200 for it.

I love delivery servers that autoscale. I love database servers that automatically fail over.  I love hosting our sales and marketing website on S3 and CloudFront for less than $10/month and having amazingly fast response times throughout the world.

I love Elastic MapReduce, where for a few dollars and a few minutes, I can run almost any data-processing task in less than two hours.  I love RightScale, which saves me from hiring least one SysAdmin, and maybe two through its templatized server setups, super-easy automated backups, super-easy and super-fast restores, and amazingly powerful monitoring services.

I love the cloud.  Please don't take me back to a world without virtualized, on-demand, API-driven hardware.
